Iberville Parish Clerk of Court Office to Temporarily Relocate

Amy M. Patin, newly sworn in Clerk of Court announced this week that the office of Clerk of Court will be temporarily relocated for almost two weeks. “The Iberville Parish Courthouse will be closed to conduct repairs to the air-conditioning and ventilation systems, during this time I will make sure we provide the same quality service as we have always given to the citizens of Iberville”, Patin stated. The Iberville Parish Clerk of Court’s Office, located on the first floor of the Courthouse will close at 4:30 p.m. Monday, July 25, 2016 and tentatively plan to reopen on Monday, August 8th. During this twelve day period, the Parish Courthouse will not be accessible. The Clerk of Court’s Office will open a temporary satellite office at the Iberville Parish Library, Main Branch located at 24605 J. Gerald Berret Blvd, Plaquemine beginning on Tuesday, July 26th at 8:30 a.m.

In an official statement, Patin indicated that while they intend to conduct business as usual at the satellite location, some services will be unavailable. “In the interim, we will be working with a limited staff and modified resources and since our older public records are located in the Courthouse, those will not be available during this time.” Although some of the older records will be unavailable, due to advancements in technology and the increase in online preservation, Patin feels confident that many records and documents are still accessible. “Our clients will still have access to our Land and Mortgage records online from 1990 to present as well as Civil records from 2008 to present”, stated Patin. During this brief relocation, the Clerk of Court’s office will continue to provide the following services:

• Recording of conveyances, mortgages

• Filing of civil law suits and pleadings

• Uniform Commercial Code Filings

• Lien Certificates

• Fax pleadings and new suits to 225-687-9719

• Temporary restraining orders

• Issuance of passports

• Issuance of Marriage licenses

• Criminal searches from year 2000 to present

• Property bonds

• Mortgage certificates from 1990 to present

I am fully aware of the inconvenience this may cause to the many people that utilize our services daily and for that I apologize. We will all work together during this time to provide exceptional service and accessibility that you have come to rely on. I appreciate the support of our Parish Government and the citizens of Iberville”, Patin stated.  During the temporary relocation, the contact information for the Clerk of Court’s office will remain the same with the exception of the fax number being temporarily changed to 225-687-9719.  A Commissioner Recertification school will be held in the fall for all existing and new elections commissioners and commissioners in charge.  For more information and updates on progress, please visit the Clerk’s Facebook page or the website at:
