How to obtain a Passport

The Iberville Clerk of Court’s Office accepts passport applications and sends them to the U.S. Department of the State for processing. This process takes 4 to 6 weeks. Expedited services are also available for additional fees.

Passports for those 16 years of age and older:
|
|
- Complete sections 1-22 of the passport application. Do not go past Section 22. The remainder must be filled out and signed in our presence.
- For ages 16 or 17, the child and parent must sign Section 23 of the application.
- For ages 18 and older, only the applicant has to sign Section 23 of the application.
- If the applicant is 18 years of age or older, he or she must use his or her own form of identification for Section 23.
- You must provide two identical passport photos.
- You must have a certified copy of your birth certificate or an old passport as well as a photo copy of your drivers license to send to Passport Services. (They will be returned to you.)
- Passports are good for 10 years.
FEES: Cost of $110.00 to be paid by check or money order made payable to New Orleans Passport Agency AND cash, check or money order made payable to the Clerk of Court for processing paperwork in the amount of $25.

Passports for those ages 15 and younger:
|
|
- Passport good for 5 years and cannot be renewed.
- Complete sections 1-22 of the passport application. Do not go past Section 22. The remainder must be filled out and signed in our presence.
- If the applicant is age 13-15, the child and parent must sign Section 23 of the application.
- If the applicant is age 12 or younger, both parents only must sign Section 23 of the application.
- If the applicant is 15 or younger, parent has to present picture ID on behalf of the minor child in Section 23.
- You must provide two identical passport photos.
- You must have a certified copy of your birth certificate or an old passport to send to Passport Services. (They will be returned to you.)
FEES: Cost of $60 to be paid by check or money order made payable to New Orleans Passport Agency AND cash, check or money order made payable to the Clerk of Court for processing paperwork in the amount of $25.

Renewals: (Mailed in – not processed by Clerk of Court)
|
|
- The applicant must have been 16 years of age or older when the passport was issued to get a renewal.
- Complete the front of the renewal form
- Date and sign the bottom of the form.
- Applicant must have two new passport photos.
- Applicant must present the old passport. (In order to renew, it must be less than 15 years from the issue date printed on the passport. If passport was issued more than 15 years ago, you must complete a new application.
- Mail the above, along with a check or money order for $67 made payable to the New Orleans Passport Agency, address to:

Expedited Fees:
|
|
- A passport can be obtained in two weeks, provided that the customer arrange for and pay for 2-way over-night delivery service.
- If international departure is less than 2 weeks, or passport is needed for foreign visas, application at a Regional Passport Agency is advised. Visit travel.state.gov for more information.
- The following fees are for expedited passport service, and are in addition to the regular passport fees as stated above. Add $60 per application and 2-way over-night delivery charges.
